About EaseGut
What the app is for, how the eight-week program works, and what it can and cannot do.
Who is EaseGut for?
EaseGut is designed for adults living with IBS, people following a low-FODMAP diet, and anyone who wants a clearer record of meals and digestive symptoms. It is a self-management tool, not a diagnostic service.
What is the eight-week program?
The program organizes food and symptom logging into three practical stages: a short elimination phase, guided reintroduction, and a more personalized long-term pattern. Gut-brain relaxation exercises sit alongside the food journal so you can observe both dietary and stress-related patterns.
Where does the FODMAP information come from?
EaseGut references published FODMAP research, food-testing data, peer-reviewed literature, and clinical nutrition guidance, then rewrites it as practical everyday information. Individual food pages include sources wherever possible.
Which devices are supported?
The iPhone and iPad app is available on the App Store and requires iOS 17 or later. The Android version is being prepared for major Android app stores.
Download and use the app
Installation, first-time setup, food logging, and photo analysis.
Where can I download EaseGut?
Use the official App Store link on this website. We recommend downloading only from the App Store or a verified Android store so purchases and updates can be validated correctly.
Do I have to complete the assessment?
The assessment helps tailor the eight-week plan and highlights symptoms that may need medical attention. Answer as accurately as you can. If a warning sign appears, save the result and consult a qualified clinician before beginning dietary restriction.
How much can I record for free?
Free users can record meals and symptoms and review the most recent seven days. Membership unlocks longer history, extended reports, and additional premium tools. The app shows the current feature comparison before purchase.
What happens to a photo used for food recognition?
EaseGut accesses only the photo you actively take or select. That image is sent securely for the requested analysis and is not used to browse your photo library or build an advertising profile. See the Privacy Policy for the current processing and retention details.
Purchases, renewals, and restoration
Prices and availability are confirmed by your app store at checkout.
Which membership plans are available?
The membership page shows the plans currently available in your region, including their duration, price, and whether they renew automatically. The Apple or Android purchase confirmation sheet is the final source of pricing and billing terms.
How do I restore a previous purchase?
Sign in to the same Apple Account or Android store account used for the original purchase. In EaseGut, open Me → Membership Benefits → Restore Purchases. Restoration does not charge you again.
Can an existing monthly member switch to another plan?
Yes. Open Me → Membership Benefits to view the plans currently available to your account. If you purchase lifetime access while an auto-renewing plan is still active, also check your app-store subscription settings so the previous recurring plan does not renew again.
How do I cancel automatic renewal?
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → EaseGut → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation stops future renewals; access remains active until the paid period ends. Android subscriptions are managed in the store used for purchase.
How do I request a refund?
App-store purchases are billed and refunded by the store. For Apple purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and submit the order for review. EaseGut cannot approve or issue an App Store refund directly.
Why does the app say a plan is unavailable?
First confirm that you are online and signed in to the correct app-store account, then reopen the membership page and try Restore Purchases. A plan may also be unavailable while store information is syncing or under review. If it continues, email support with your app version, device model, country or region, and a screenshot; never send an account password or full payment details.
Your records and account
Passwords, device changes, exports, privacy, and deletion.
Will my records transfer when I switch phones?
Diet, symptom, bowel, and plan records are currently stored on the phone where you created them and do not automatically move to a new device. Membership follows your account. Export a PDF health report before changing phones and keep the original device until you have what you need.
How do I export my records?
In the app, open Me → Export Health Report to generate a PDF summary you can keep or share with a clinician. Export availability depends on your current membership.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Tap Forgot Password on the sign-in screen and use the reset link sent by email. Check spam if it does not arrive. If you still cannot reset it, contact support@easegut.life.
How do I delete my account?
Open Me → Account, Help & About → Delete Account, or email legal@easegut.life. Account deletion is permanent. Records stored only on your phone should also be removed from the device if you no longer want to keep them.
Does EaseGut sell health or symptom data?
No. EaseGut does not sell personal information or use health records for advertising profiles. Meal and symptom logs are stored on-device by default. Data needed for account security, purchase validation, support, and AI requests is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
The limits of the app
Reference information should support, not replace, qualified medical care.
Can EaseGut diagnose or treat IBS?
No. EaseGut is a diet and symptom self-management tool. It provides reference information and pattern tracking, but it does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition and does not replace a doctor or registered dietitian.
When should I see a doctor first?
Seek medical advice before dietary restriction if you have blood or black stool, unintentional weight loss, persistent fever, iron-deficiency anemia, pain that wakes you at night, new symptoms after age 50, or a family history of colorectal cancer. Seek urgent care for severe or rapidly worsening symptoms.
Should I follow a low-FODMAP diet long term?
The strict elimination phase is generally intended to be temporary, followed by structured reintroduction and personalization. Long-term unnecessary restriction can reduce dietary variety. A FODMAP-trained registered dietitian can help if symptoms are severe, nutrition is limited, or the process feels difficult.
